  • This event has two separate tournaments ... you need to register separately for each tournament.

    • BLITZ Tournament:  Friday Evening, March 12th: 

      • 5 Rounds, Two Sections (K-5 and K-12).  To see the BLITZ RULES, click here.

      • Register for BLITZ by web (safe, fast, easy), and you can now pay using PayPal.  See who has registered.

      • Click here to register by US Mail

      • Advance Registration is $10 and you can pay using PayPal when you Register.  Registation is $15 if you wait to Register at the tournament (cash or check only on-site).

      • All players MUST BRING A CHESS CLOCK to play blitz.

    • Main Tournament:  Saturday and Sunday. 

      • 6 Rounds, 5 Sections (K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12, and Collegiate).  To see the MAIN EVENT RULES, click here. This event qualifies eligible players to receive World Chess Live Jr. Grand Prix points.

      • Register for the Main Event by web, and you can now pay using PayPal.  See who has registered.

      • Advance Registration is $30 and you can now pay using PayPal when you Register online.  Registration is $40 if you wait to register on-site.

      • Note:  $1 from every player's entry supports Virginia's representatives to the Denker Tournament of High School Champions and the new US Girls Junior Open (formerly the Susan Polgar tournament) in August 2010 during the U.S. Open.

  • SIMULTANEOUS EXHIBITION:  Featuring reigning State K-12 and Denker High School Champion Abby Marshall.  Click here for details.

  • Mail Payments (check or money order, no credit cards) by US Postal Service mail to the address below.  Checks payable to "Virginia Chess."  Fees for multiple players and both events can all be combined on one check, just be sure we can figure out what you are paying for with your check.
