• Where: The Best Western "Tysons Westpark Hotel" located at 8401 Westpark Drive, Mclean, VA

• The tournament has two separate events ... you must register separately for each tournament.

• BLITZ Tournament:  Friday Evening, March 16th: 

  • 5 Rounds, Three Sections (K-5, K-12 and College).  Round 1 begins at 6PM.

  • Advance Registration is $10, and you can pay using PayPal when you Register.  

  • Registation is $15 if you wait to Register at the tournament (cash or check only on-site).

  • All players MUST BRING A CHESS CLOCK to play blitz.

• MAIN TOURNAMENT:  Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18. 

  • 6 Rounds, 4 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday.

  • Players are grouped into 5 Sections based on their grade in school(e.g. K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12, and College). 

  • Advance Registration is $30, and you can now pay using PayPal when you Register online.

  • Registration is $40 if you wait to register on-site.

  • Note:  $1.50 from every player's entry supports sending Virginia's representatives to the Denker Tournament of High School Champions, the US All-Girls Championships or the US Girls Junior Open, and the Barber Tournament of 6th-8th Grade Champions ... all in August 2012 during the U.S. Open.
