Entry Fees - Use the advance entry fee only if your entry will be mailed in order for me to receive it on or before the cutoff date for advance entry discount.  After that date, please enclose the full entry fee.  If you are not sure I will receive your entry in the mail two days prior to the event, please bring it with you to the event.

VCF Membership is  required for Virginia residents. $10 Adults, $5 under age 18

Please be sure to bring proof of current USCF membership, especially if it is not shown as current in the ratings area on the USCF web-site at  www.uschess.org.  If current membership cannot be verified, you may be required to join or renew for an additional year. 

You can join or renew your USCF membership with your advance entry or at the tournament site.  Please include your membership info. and money with the advance entry to save time for at-door registration.  Include the appropriate USCF dues amount in your check if you are joining or renewing. You can also renew your membership at the USCF web-site.  If you do, be sure to print and bring the confirming e-mail you will receive the next day.

If you are purchasing a USCF membership with your advance entry or at the tournament, make your checks payable to as shown on the entry form. There is no need to include separate checks.  I will give you a receipt at the tournament.  Any memberships received more then a week before the event will be submitted to the USCF in advance of the tournament.

Withdrawal for Advance Entries - If notification is given prior to the close of registration so you are not paired, you can get a complete refund of your entry fee if you decide not to play.  Because we do not have phone access at many tournament sites, we can only accept withdrawals by phone or e-mail until 10 p.m. on the night before the round.  If you have to withdraw after that time, please try to find someone playing in the tournament and send a message with them.

Privacy Statement - Personal information gathered on tournament entry forms is used for tournament entry purposes and may be used by me to contact you about future chess tournaments.  It is also provided to the US Chess Federation and/or the Virginia Chess Federation for membership purposes if you are joining either organization.
