Master
(FM) James Schuyler was awarded the FM title in 2008 by FIDE, the
world
governing body for chess.
He plays frequently
in Virginia and is an excellent chess player.
FM Schuyler
was
the Nevada State Champion in 2007. He also was the 1989

What is a
Simultaneous Exhibition?
A simultaneous exhibition is where one strong player plays many
opponents at one time. The exhibitor will move from board to board.
When he arrives at the board, the player will make a move.
The exhibitor will respond and then move to the next board. Click here
for complete details of how the exhibition works.
In this exhibition, FM Schuyler will play up to 30 opponents at once.
Each player will choose to play either White or Black but we will
balance the number of whites and blacks. Please include your color
preference with your entry.
If they are not balanced, colors will be assigned by lot to
balance the colors.

Is a
Simultaneous Exhibition Fun?
Yes! This is an opportunity to play a world-class chess
player in a relaxed and fun setting. The expectation is that the
exhibitor will win all the games so you can only succeed, not fail.
Even if you lose quickly, no one will laugh. The exhibitor expects to
see players of all levels of ability and is friendly to all. Players of
all levels and ages are encouraged to play.
If any of
the participants win or draw, they will receive a tournament quality
chess set and board. If nobody wins or draws, two sets and boards will be
awarded by lot.
What do you need
to know to be able to play?
If you know how the chess pieces move you are ready to play. If you
know
how to keep the game score (record the moves of both players), you will
have a life-time record of your game and
FM Schuyler will sign your score sheet after the game is over so you will
have a souvenir of the game. Click
here to learn how to record chess moves. Chess sets will be provided so you don't need to bring any equipment.
What does it
cost to play & how do I register to play?
A fee of $15 if received in advance [by 2/16] or $20 the night of the
event is charged to recompense the exhibitor. Those who register
& pay in advance will have the first priority for playing FM Schuyler.
If all 30 boards are
non reserved in advance, those who register the night of the exhibition
will be seated. If some of the games end very quickly, the exhibitor
may allow additional entries at those boards.

printable registration form.
