2025 US Armed Forces Open & Veterans Open Chess Championships

We have made the following lodging arrangements ...

1. For Cadets / Midshipmen attending the Service Academies or in College ROTC. 
    + If you wish to have lodging at the US Merchant Marine Academy, contact Dr. Kimani Stancil (stancilk@usmma.edu), the faculty sponsor of the USMMA Chess Club.
    + You must make your request no later than Friday, 26 Sep 2025.

2. There is no on-base lodging for anyone other than the Cadets/Midshipmen.

3. For all other participants we have made arrangements at the following two (2) hotels. Note that both hotels are 30-40 minutes away from the playing site. There are several closer hotels, but their cost is well over $200 per night, with many over $300 per night. Dude ... it's New York!

    + Econo Lodge, 429 Duffy Ave, Hicksville, NY 11801.  The rate listed below is for the nights of October 10, 11 and 12, with checkout on Monday the 13th.
       - To make your reservation, contact the hotel at 516-433-3900 or 516-433-3909 and mention our Group Name "Armed Forces Chess." Have your credit card ready.
       - The lodging rate we negotiated is $159.99 per night + taxes.
       - There are 15 rooms available in our Room Block.
       - All rooms have 2 Double Beds and are NO SMOKING.
       - You must reserve your room by Wednesday, 10 Sep.  If you try to book the room after that the Group Rate ($159.99) is NOT guaranteed.

       - The lodging rate we negotiated is $175 per night + taxes.
       - There are 15 rooms available in our Room Block.
       - The entire hotel is NO SMOKING.
       - You must reserve your room by Wednesday, 10 Sep.  If you try to book the room after that the Group Rate ($175) is NOT guaranteed.
