Five round - Swiss System - USCF Rated Chess Tournament

Two Sections:   Open  and  U1600    Time Control is Game/ 2 hours

Unrated players are only permitted to enter the Open section and are eligible for the U1800 prize aas well as place prizes.

Prizes will be raised with more than 55 entries.

Each player will receive a free T-Shirt and an athlete's badge which will allow you to watch all the events of the Sports Festival.

Rate: $99.00 per suite, per night plus taxes for the Sports Festival over the dates of Feb 18th – 21st, 2010.  We are attached to the Hampton Roads Convention Center by covered walkway.

~A full breakfast is included with your stay and we have a separate cook-to-order station for eggs and omelets in our Atrium for all registered guests.
~Complimentary Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks and light Snacks from 5:30pm to 7:30pm nightly in our Atrium for all registered guests.
~All our rooms are two room suites (living room and separate bedroom) all living rooms have a sleeper sofa.
~Two Double Beds (Two Double Beds in bedroom & sleeper sofa in living room) sleeps maximum of 6 people.
~King Bed (King Bed in bedroom & sleeper sofa in living room) sleeps maximum of 4 people.

Register at the site.  No e-mail or telephone entries.  If you do not include a check with your mailed entry, you will have to register at the site at the $50 rate.

Registration:  On-site registration from 9:00 to 9:45 am on Saturday. 

Memberships:  A USCF membership current through 2/27/2011  is required for all participants. The membership can be purchased at the site or on-line before the tournament at www.uschess.org.  If you purchase on-line, please bring proof of membership. VCF membership is required for VA Residents.  $10 adults, $5 under age 18.  Info: www.vachess.org.

Rounds:  Saturday   10:00 am   2:30 pm   7:00 pm     Sunday   10:00 am  2:30 pm.   A single half-pt. bye may be requested prior to the start of round 2.  Byes for rounds 4 & 5 are non-revokable.  This is not a knock-out event. Participants will play all five games regardless if they win or lose unless they request a bye.

Spectators:  There will be a charge for spectators.  Tickets for either one day or the full weekend will be available.  The tickets will allow you to watch all the events, not just the chess.
