The
weekend has three separate events: Blitz, the Main Tournament, and
the Parents & Friends (P&F) side tournament.

EVENT #1: BLITZ Tournament on Friday Night, March 8th. This is an optional
(but very fun!!) event, the results have no impact on determining
the 2025 Virginia Scholastic & College Champions.

4 or
5 Rounds, depending on the number of entries we get.
-
Players compete in three sections (K-5, K-12 and College). Round 1 at 6:30 PM
on Friday evening. College Section will be cancelled or merged with K-12, if there are
fewer than 5 players or if all 5 College players are from the same
team.

The Early Entry Fee with your
Registration is $30 per person. Entry
Fee increases to $40 on Saturday March 2nd and at the tournament
site.

On-site Registration
for Blitz opens at 4 PM and ends at 6 PM!!
Entries received after 6:00 should not expect to play in Round 1 and
will be paired for Round 2.
Register early and avoid standing in line at the last minute!!

All players
MUST BRING A CHESS CLOCK
to play.

EVENT #2: THE MAIN EVENT, Saturday & Sunday,
March 9th and 10th
This is the
Virginia
Scholastic & College Chess Championship Event

5 Rounds
... with 3
games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. College plays
only 4 rounds, all on Saturday.

The Discounted (Early) Entry Fee for the main
tournament is $60, and you
can pay using PayPal when you Register online.
The Entry Fee increases to $80
on Saturday March 2nd.
Entry Fee increases to $100 beginning
Wednesday, March 6th and for anyone who enters at the tournament
site on Friday evening. NO ONSITE ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON
SATURDAY, MARCH 9th.

$4.00 from every player's entry
supports sending Virginia's representatives
to the Denker Tournament of High School Champions, the
National Girls Invitational Tournament, the Barber
Tournament of Jr. High Champions, and the new Rockefeller
Tournament of Elementary Champiions ... all in late July and early
August 2025 during the U.S. Open in NORFOLK VA.

The P&F Tournament is for adults only (parents, coaches, family friends and other
adult players). No scholastic
or college players can play in the P&F event who would otherwise be eligible to compete in
the Scholastic or College sections.

Membership is required to play.

Increases to $40 starting Saturday, March 2nd and at the
tournament site.
