    • Round 1:  Saturday, April 6th, 10AM

      • Webster University vs Univ. of Illinois, with Webster playing White on Board 1

      • UT Dallas vs. UMBC, with UT Dallas playing White on Board 1

    • Round 2Saturday, April 6th, 5 PM

      • UMBC vs. Webster University, with UMBC playing White on Board 1

      • Univ. of Illinois vs. UT Dallas, with Univ of Illinois playing White on Board 1

    • Round 3Sunday, April 7th, 9 AM.  Board 1 colors for Rd 3 were determined by Drawing of Pawns on Friday evening.

      • Webster vs. UT Dallas, with UT Dallas playing White on Board 1

      • UMBC vs. Univ. of Illinois, with UMBC playing White on Board 1

  • Event Schedule

    • Saturday, April 6th:  Round 1 at 10AM, Round 2 at 5PM.

    • Sunday, April 7th:  Round 3 (Final Round) at 9 AM.

    • Awards Ceremony:  TBD, usually about 15-30 minutes after the last game finishes on Sunday (Round 3, which usually finishes between 1 and 2 PM).

    • The Time Control for each Round is 90-minutes, with a 30-second Time Increment ... for each player.  Therefore, one game could (in theory) last more than 4 hours.

    • We will work hard to arrange for "Online Broadcast" of the games via Monroi.com.

  • Tournament Sponsor

    • The Final Four of College Chess is a National Championship Event sanctioned by the US Chess Federation.

    • The corporate sponsor for the Final 4 is the consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc.  Booz Allen recognizes that chess players are experts at solving extremely complex problems, a skill set the participating teams have in common with Booz Allen.

  • Spectator Info

    • Spectators are WELCOME

    • NO CELL PHONES or any electronic communcation device are ALLOWED in the playing room

    • FOOD, WATER AND COFFEE provided at the tournament site is for the PLAYERS ONLY

    • You will be required to pickup a "Visitor's Badge" at the Booz Allen front desk before entering the playing area

    • Unless permission is granted by the Tournament Director (Mike Hoffpauir), Video and Photography are not permitted after the first 10 minutes of each round.

    • Media also need to follow the rules mentioned above for Spectators (No Cell Phones, Receive a Visitor's Badge)
